Welcome to Grace United Methodist Church. We hope you’ll take some time to explore our website and learn more about our ministries. We’d love for you to plan a visit with us soon.
Our church was founded in 1868 in Lafayette Square of Baltimore City, roughly 5 miles south of our current location. Our last 150 years have been a powerful journey of God’s blessings and we are looking forward to the next 150. We have a unique story in that we are the combined congregation of multiple Methodist traditions. Between our beginnings in 1868 and today, the congregations of Grace Methodist Episcopal Church, Roland Park Methodist Episcopal Church, North Baltimore Methodist Protestant Church, and A.W. Wilson Memorial Methodist Church have come together at various moments through the decades to create what is now Grace United Methodist Church. Our unique history represents the Methodist Episcopal Church, the Methodist Episcopal Church South, and the Methodist Protestant Church. Our current site at North Charles and Northern Parkway represents our fourth sanctuary and has been our home since 1951. Our second Sanctuary is still in use as a United Methodist congregation, Metropolitan United Methodist Church, in Lafayette Square.
Life at Grace is focused around our mission and ‘Why’ statement: “To act so that God’s love is felt by ALL.” We pray that you will find a family and home with us, where you can grow and serve.
Grace Church is an affirming congregation. We joined the Reconciling Ministries Network in 2010. This means we are welcoming and affirming of all LGBTQ persons and their allies.
