“Remembering the words of the Lord Jesus Christ, for he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’” (Acts 20:35).
Please refer to our Outreach webpage to see which programs currently welcome volunteers during the pandemic. There are several! And, once we are able to safely do more in-person, you will be welcome to join in other programs – there is never a lack of choices.
Former (and future) opportunities:
Here you will find listings of opportunities we’re eager to re-start to continue the ministries of Grace. Please check back, or subscribe to e-Notes, to learn more. If you don’t see anything that fits your passions, contact Reverend Amy and she will be pleased to help you find your best way to serve at Grace.
Reading Partners places community volunteers in low-income schools to help kids master basic reading. Grace members volunteer each week at an area school. You can learn more about Reading Partners at www.readingpartners.org. If you’d like to volunteer with the Grace team, contact Reverend Amy.
Every Sunday, Manna Bags are available for church members to take with them and distribute to someone in need as they go about their daily routine. A Manna Bag is a simple, brown paper bag filled with several food items and a bottle of water. Grace assembles Manna Bags as needed throughout the year. If you would like to help with this project, contact Reverend Amy.
Christmas Angel Tree…
Each year, Grace provides gifts for Baltimore City children who have an incarcerated parent. A list of needed gifts is posted in early Advent and gifts are typically delivered during the third week of December. If you would like to help with this project, contact Reverend Amy.
And More Trees
Also during Advent, Grace members bring mittens, toiletry supplies, new underwear, blankets and baby supplies to support several organizations in the Baltimore area.
Grace Spring Gala
The gala is an auction, as well as an hor d’oeuves and dessert event. Each year, funds (usually $10,000+) are designated for one of Grace’s oureach projects. Volunteers are needed to head up the event, food prep, serving and cleanup, as well as the roles of auctioneers, and we ask for auction donations as well.
Summer Mission Projects
In the summer, Grace Church takes on mission and service projects, and we welcome youth and adult volunteers. Read more for summer projects here.
