Equipping children with trust in God and guiding families to help their children grow in faith!
As we know, Faith Development involves a combination of education, worship, and service. Sunday mornings are designed to give you and your family all three!
Join us for Sunday School!
Right now, due to COVID precautions and the rising Delta variant, we’ve had to transition our Sunday School classes back online. Never fear, we have the same great curriculum as ever! You may join us by clicking the link in your Sunday E-Notes at 9:00 a.m.
LEARNING THROUGH A LENS OF WONDER – CELEBRATE!
Celebrate Wonder is a Sunday school curriculum that engages children’s natural sense of curiosity to help them understand God’s love. It creates a safe environment for kids to ask big questions — helping them explore the Bible in ways that feed their imagination and encourages creativity. It engages children in open-ended exploration and inquiry of the Bible. Through experiential activities, spiritual practices, and reflection, Celebrate Wonder All Ages serves as a biblical guide to help children make meaning for their lives. Through carefully-selected Bible stories, songs, videos, and hands-on activities, Celebrate Wonder gives children the tools to explore their faith while incorporating it into their daily lives.
So, don’t just ask what your child learned during Sunday School; let them know what you learned too in worship service! We long for your family to grow together in faith.

Our children’s ministry is a Safe Sanctuaries program!
Safe Sanctuaries is simply an effort through policy and procedure to create a safe place for the most vulnerable of our church family and our visitors. All our volunteers undergo background checks and we do not allow anyone with a criminal background to work with our children, although they are welcome to participate in other areas of ministry at Grace. Safe Sanctuaries is a “social structure that is consistent with the Gospel” allowing our sanctuaries, classrooms, mission encounters, camps and retreats, and all spaces where we gather to worship and serve God to be in places of trust. You may learn more about Safe Sanctuaries here.
Other Ministries and Events
Children’s Church- 10:20 AM (immediately following Children’s Moments) ages 3-7: Held every Sunday during 10:00 AM Traditional service with the exception of the first Sunday of the month, Children are led by an assigned Shepheard from the Sanctuary to the Children’s Chapel in the lower level of the church.
Children’s Moments: during sanctuary worship service a time for interaction during our 10:00am Sanctuary service is for children and church pastors. The children are engaged with age appropriate stories and lessons based on the scriptures, and the mission work of the church.
Children’s Choir and Sign Language – Age 3 to Grade 6: gathers on Sundays to worship and sing! Together, we have built a community of young singers who use music to look inward to decide how to live as children of the Lord. They work to develop basic music skills, such as pitch matching and rhythm, while supporting a healthy vocal technique. We often experiment with movement and instrumentation. Our repertoire ranges from contemporary Christian tunes to upbeat spirituals. The members of the children’s choir will lend their voices to sing the Lord’s praises! We gather in a fun, supportive environment to discover how music can help us feel more connected to our faith. Performance opportunities include the Sanctuary and Sunday School plus collaborations with the Church Choir. Children’s Choir practices are 9:00 am.-9:30am on Sundays.
VIP (VERY INCLUDED PEOPLE) MINISTRY: At Grace United Methodist Church, we work hard to make all children an integral part of our church. We do this by offering an inclusive Sunday school at our 9:00am service. No matter your child’s physical, sensory, developmental, or emotional needs, we will work with you and your child to help make Grace UMC your home. We believe every child’s story should involve Christ. An in-house aide is here on site to help, and each child is given a “buddy” to hang out with each week. We do everything in our power to make every child feel a part of our church family. The more we know about your child’s needs, the better we can help them find Christ in the midst of their story.
Nursery and Toddler Care is available on Sunday mornings: We provide a supervised, safe, and clean environment for infants and toddlers in an atmosphere of love, understanding and care. Our childcare team is especially sensitive to the separation anxiety of parents and children and trained to handle most situations. Our system includes leaving your cell number with the Director of Children’s Ministry so that you can be privately reached if an issue arises with their child.
Do you have a child in PK-4 or kindergarten who likes music and singing? We’d love to have them sing in our choir! With us, your children will explore the different things their voices can do in an age-appropriate way. Your children will also lead worship and have opportunities to lead prayer with each other. The children’s choirs meet on Sunday mornings from 10:45-11:05 a.m. (Group 1) and 11:05-11:25 a.m. (Group 2) in Room 107. The choir sings in the 10:00 service once a month, as well as the Family Christmas Service. This is a fun way to introduce singing and experience music!
