Children are always welcome at Grace: in worship, in choir, and in Sunday School. If you are worshiping with children, an usher can provide an activity bag, crayons and a special children’s bulletin for their use.
We seek to encourage a love of God and a knowledge of the stories that shape the Christian faith. To that end, we offer Sunday School year round. From fall through the spring, children divided into age-appropriate groups with dedicated teachers using a rotational model for Sunday School. These classes run concurrently with the 10:00 a.m. worship service. Children gather in a single room and are then directed to their classes by a shepherd. The Sunday School experience concludes with the children’s choir. On the first Sunday of each month, all children stay in worship, worshiping as a class or with their families.
For Rotational Sunday School the children are divided into the Minnows Group (ages three through four), the Dove Group (kindergarten through first grade) the Eagle Group (grades second through third), and the Raven Group (fourth through fifth grade). While the Minnows through Eagle groups delve into a biblical story for several weeks using music, art, science, story-telling or cooking, the Raven Group explores the scripture verses being read in worship that Sunday with age-appropriate, exciting activities.
During the summer months, children experience the first portion of worship, are invited to a special children’s message in the service, and then are dismissed from worship to a one classroom learning environment.
Nursery Care is available for children from birth to age three during both worship services each Sunday. Two paid professionals staff the Nursery each Sunday.
