An Act of Love - Movie Night

    5:30pm-7:30pmFellowship Hall

Members of the Grace Reconciling Committee are hosting a viewing of the movie AN ACT OF LOVE.  The movie is a gripping documentary about the Rev. Frank Schaefer who officiated the same-sex wedding of his son and was then put on trial by the United Methodist Church for doing so.  Rev. Schaefer’s act of love for his son put him to the forefront of a decades-long movement for LGBTQ equality in the United Methodist Church. The movie also covers the history of the discriminatory policies against those that are LGBTQ.

During the past year AN ACT OF LOVE has been shown at film festivals around the country and has won several awards. It has just been released for general distribution. The movie runs for 86 minutes. This is a prefect opportunity for those that want a better understanding of LGBTQ issues within the United Methodist Church.

A light supper will be served at 5:30 p.m. and the movie will start at 6 p.m.  Child care will be offered during the showing of the movie (RSVP HERE).

Please plan to be with us and invite others to come with you for the showing of AN ACT OF LOVE.  We will be inviting members from other congregations to come view the movie with us.
