Sundays at Grace for Kids
Children are always welcome at Grace: in worship, in choir and in Sunday School. If you are worshiping with your child, an usher can provide an activity bag, crayons and a special children’s bulletin for their use.
We seek to encourage a love of God and a knowledge of the stories that shape the Christian faith. To that end, we offer Sunday School throughout the school year, with children divided into age-appropriate groups with dedicated teachers. During the school year we will be having Rotational Sunday School. There is the Minnows Group (ages three through four), the Dove Group (kindergarten through second grade) and the Eagle Group (grades third through fifth).
Fall through Spring, Sunday School runs concurrently with the 10:00 a.m. worship service. All children will begin classes directly at 10:00 am with a Sunday School Choir Practice in Room 26, the Children’s Choir Room, on weeks two through four. On the first week of the month, all children will stay in worship as a Sunday School or with their family. The Sunday School Choir will be performing throughout the year during this time.
Nursery Care is available for children from birth to age three during both worship services each Sunday. A paid professional, along with a church volunteer, staffs the Nursery each Sunday.
Throughout the year, Grace offers several special events designed for the whole family, including a church-wide Christmas turkey dinner that includes a visit from Santa, an Easter Egg Hunt on the church grounds, and a blessing of backpacks as children return to school.
July and August, Sunday School begins after the children’s message during the 9:30 a.m. service. In the summer months, Children classes begin in the sanctuary and are dismissed from worship to their classes following the children’s message.
“Jesus said: Let the children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.” Matthew 19:14
