Christian Education

Christian Formation at Grace

Dear Friends,

Life at Grace Church is filled with many things: worship, service, committee meetings AND Christian Education. Education is a key part in our journeys of faith. Our experience of God is enriched by our knowledge of the Bible and the basics of Christian theology, as well as opportunities to critically examine the places where the Christian life and the larger world intersect. Every person is born with an innate sense of God, which is nurtured by the stories of the faith and a space to wonder about our place within those stories.

In the pages that follow, you will find information concerning our Christian Education programs for every age. We give thanks to the many people who have created such a wonderful array of opportunities. We hope you will read it carefully and make a space for you and your family’s growth through education. One exciting change this year is that our children will be joining us in worship, to be dismissed to their classes following the first section of the service. This will allow children to get a sense of worship and for all of us to worship as a whole church family. Parents can find additional information about these changes in this booklet.

We don’t just encourage you to try a Sunday School class, Sunday night gathering or small group; we challenge you to commit to deepening your connection to God and others through Christian study. If you think it doesn’t matter, let me share with you:

  • that I still remember my 3 year old Sunday School teacher, who was the first person beyond my parents to share God’s love with me,
  • that Disciple Bible Study has changed people’s lives
  • that many members of this church have formed lasting friendships through small group fellowship

I hope you will prayerfully find your place in the educational life of Grace Church. We know you will be blessed by it!
